RING 1 – JUMPING
9am start

1   Starter Stakes
Jumps to be 2’3” in the first round. (Radio Cabin PC Trophy).

2   Novice Jumping
Combinations not to have won more than £25. Jumps 2’6” in the first round. (Queen Victoria PC Trophy).

3   Intermediate Jumping
Jumps 2’9” in the first round. (Highstead Gold Cup PC Trophy)

4   Local Jumping
Competitors to be based within 20 miles of the showground. Jumps 2’9” in the first round. (Chislet PC Trophy).

5   Open Jumping
Jumps 3’ in the first round. (Bubbling Brown Sugar PC Trophy).


RING 2 – JUMPING

8.30 – 10am   Clear Round Jumping. £1 per round – to be paid at the ringside.
Rosettes for all clear rounds and certificates awarded to all who complete 3 clear rounds.

10.15am
6   Minimus Jumping
For riders 12 years & under on ponies 13.2hh & under, jumps 1’ in the first round. No lower age limit, but young riders must be on a lead rein. (“J” PC Trophy).

7   Beginners Jumping
Jumps 1’6” in the first round. (“S” PC Trophy).

8   2 Foot Jumping
(Highstead Bowl PC Trophy).

9   Working Hunter Pony
Ponies under 14.2hh, 4 yrs & over, riders any age. Will be required to jump. (Gate-Ide PC Trophy).

10   Working Hunter Horse
Horses 14.2hh & over, 4 yrs & over, riders any age. Will be required to jump. (Midnight Star PC Trophy).

GROUP 1 - Performance Championship   – 1st from classes 9, 10, 39 & 40.


RING 3 – SHOWING
9.30am start

11   First Ridden Pony

12   Leading Rein Pony
Riders 9 yrs & under on ponies 12.2hh & under. (Winners PC Trophy).

13   Leading Rein Best Rider
Riders 9 yrs & under, who are genuinely on the lead rein, on ponies 12.2hh & under. (Tommy PC Trophy).

14   Ridden Youngster
For horses & ponies aged 4 – 7 yrs. (Bill-Bob PC Trophy).

15   Riding Pony
Under 14.2hh. (Gaylord PC Trophy).

16   Riding Horse
14.2hh and over. (Amadeus PC Trophy).

17   Best Rider aged 7-12 yrs
(Eriskay PC Trophy). Riders must be off the lead rein.

18   Best Rider aged 13-17 yrs
(The Jason PC Trophy).

GROUP 2 - Best Rider Championship – 1st from classes 13, 17 & 18.


RING 4 – SHOWING
9am start

19   Riding Horse / Pony In Hand
(Arrow PC Trophy).

20   Foreign Breeds In Hand
Any breed non-indigenous to the British Isles, pure or Partbred (minimum 25%). (Darshu PC Trophy).

21   Coloured Horse & Pony In Hand
For skewbalds & piebalds only, any type. (Thanet Sports PC Trophy).

22   Best Colour Markings
For skewbalds & piebalds only, judged 90% on colour. Winner not eligible for championships. Proceeds from this class will be donated to the ILPH.

23   Ridden Foreign Breeds
As class 20. (Miami PC Trophy). Any saddle.

24   Ridden Coloured Horse & Pony
For skewbalds & piebalds, any type. (Shadie PC Trophy).

GROUP 3 - In Hand Championship – 1st from classes 19, 20, 21, 32 & 33.

Classes 25 – 30 may be shown in hand or under saddle. Winners are NOT eligible for Championships.

25   Handsomest Gelding

26   Prettiest Mare

27   Fancy Dress
Standard Safety Hat must be worn. Riders may be led. To be judged on overall impression. (Harlequin Rose Bowl PC Trophy).

28   Judges Choice

29   Little & Large or Matching Pair
Each pair will be asked to give a short display. (Jade PC Trophy).


RING 5 – SHOWING 9am start

30   Condition & Turnout
In hand or under saddle. (Daruda PC Trophy).

31   Novice Handler
Not to have been placed 1st in any in hand class (including lead rein). (Lucy Lockett PC Trophy). Winner not eligible for championships.

32   Mountain & Moorland In Hand.
Pure or partbred. (Fellside PC Trophy).

33   Veterans In Hand, 16yrs & over.

34   Ridden Cob
Will not be required to jump. (Bella Vista PC Trophy).

35   Show Hunter
Will not be required to jump (Mount Farm PC Trophy).

36   Family Horse/Pony To be shown by two riders one to be over 21yrs and one to be under 16yrs. Second rider to perform individual show. Proceeds from this class will be donated to the ILPH.

37   Mountain & Moorland Ridden.
Pure or partbred. (Lachlan Memorial PC Trophy).

38   Veterans Ridden, 16 yrs & over

GROUP 4 – Ridden Championship – 1st from classes 11, 12, 14, 15, 16,   23, 24,   34, 35, 36, 37 & 38.

GRAND SHOW CHAMPION
Open to all the Champions from Groups 1- 5.

If you do not intend to show back in your respective championship(s), please let the Secretary known on the day ASAP


RING 6 – DRESSAGE 9am start.

Dressage entries close 9th August 2008 – NO LATE ENTRIES. Ring for times between 6-8pm on 15th August. Tel: 01227-860625. If engaged don’t leave your phone number – ring again later!

39   Preliminary 18 (2002).

40   Preliminary 12 (2005).

The Grain Harvester PC Trophy will be awarded for the highest points scored from both classes 39 & 40.


RING 6 – WESTERN
Starts 1pm.

41   Open Showmanship
Winner NOT eligible for championships.

42   Novice Rider Horsemanship

43   Amateur Horsemanship

The Highstead Horsemanship PC Trophy will be awarded for the highest points in classes 42 & 43.

44   Preliminary Pleasure (WES 2007 pattern - 20m x 40m arena - NOT the new pattern with circles!)

45   Novice Horse Pleasure

46   Novice Rider Pleasure

47   Amateur Pleasure

The Highstead Pleasure PC Trophy will be awarded for the highest points in classes 44 to 47.

48   Novice Rider Trail

49   Novice Horse Trail

50   Amateur Trail

The Highstead Trail PC Trophy will be awarded for the highest points in classes 48, 49 & 50

PLUS Overall Youth & Overall Adult Western Hi-Point Trophies

GROUP 5   - Western Championship
– classes 48 to 50.


ALL CHAMPIONSHIPS
Each championship will be judged immediately after the final class in their group in their respective rings. Winners from the respective classes eligible for the championships. Champion & Reserve Championship rosettes will be awarded in each group.

Commemerative rosettes to all entries in classes 22 & 36.


THE SMALL PRINT
All persons entering the showground shall be bound by these rules and regulations. The organisers do not accept any liability for damage, accident or injury of any kind to any persons, animals or properties whatsoever. All competitors must have third party insurance. The judges decision is final. The Organisers reserve the right to refuse entry without specifying the reason and alter the time, date and schedule and vary the order of jumping as needs arise, although every effort will be made to adhere to the published schedule where possible. The Organisers reserve the right to limit prize money and amalgamate classes in the event of insufficient entries. Any competitor who in the eyes of the judges or the Organisers ill treats or causes unnecessary suffering to any animal will be asked to leave the showground and will forfeit their entry money. This will also apply to any competitor or person associated with them deemed to have been abusive to any show official. No equine may be entered in the same class more than once. Objections must be made in writing and given to the Show Secretary within 15 minutes of the incident with a deposit of £15. This will be returned if the objection is upheld. Correct riding attire must be worn at all times when mounted. This includes a riding hat meeting the latest safety standards. Riders in the Foreign Breeds or Western classes must lodge a disclaimer with the Organisers if they intend to wear a traditional hat. (Available from the Secretary). Riders may only walk outside of the practise arena. Horses must be 4 years or older to compete in a ridden class. All dogs must be kept on a lead at all times. Competitors should not muck out their horse boxes/trailers on the showground and should take all litter home with them or use the bins provided. Refund of entry fees are at the Organisers discretion and will not be refunded without a doctor’s/veterinary certificate. Own water for horses must be provided as there is none on the showground. All trophies are perpetual challenge (and are named in brackets alongside the appropriate classes) and must be signed for at the Secretary’s tent & a deposit may be required before they will be awarded. All trophies must be returned in good order by 31st July the following year.


HIGHSTEAD RIDING CENTRE & HIGHSTEAD RIDING CLUB
Club meets 1st & 3rd Sunday November to March at Highstead Riding Centre. Junior & Adult, “English” & western riding sessions. Club Shows: New Year Show, 4th Jan 2009, Easter Show, Good Friday 10th April 2009. Centre Dressage shows: 9th November, 14th December, 11th January (2009), 8th February &   8th March – ending with the Wahl (UK) & Grain Harvester Dressage Championships. Centre Western Shows 26th October 2008 & 22nd February 2009. Contact Show Secretary for details.



ENTRY FEES

Advance Entries per class - HRC members £5.
Herne PC & Marshside PC £5.50. All others £6.
Entries on the day - £8 per class.

In order to be included in the Show Programme, entries must be received by 30th July. Advance entries close 11th August.
